I know this might come as a disappointment to some of you fans of VIPeers, but we have to close the service for the time being. The VIPeers / Podmailing beta-test has been suspended, enabling our team to do a complete overhaul.
VIPeers will be back with a brand new file sharing service integrated into Pump, our Video software for Windows XP/Vista which is currently in private beta. In fact we would like to invite you to try this powerful software which will help you to better enjoy Internet video from all sources. You can download it from http://pump.vipeers.com/ using invitation code PUMP-FOR-ALL-VIDEOS.
Thanks for your support so far and keep following us in real time on Twitter:
Louis, for the VIPeers Team
P.S.: VIP Access paid accounts will stay active until their expiration date

It´s not the number of manpower, but the

good PR for the company, & get popularity.
You have some bait!- Get the fish. The best
bait, is to become one with the customers need´s, & slowly win their confidence. It´s
tons easyer to "lead & guide" customers who
have confidence in the importance of your
product. The "KEE" is to be loving, friendly & understanding of the customers needs. You
get confidence by doing followup-mailings.

Sorry Hortencia, I erased your comment because UPPERCASE is rude.
To answer your question, the service is still working for people for VIP Access until their accounts runs out.

Well, you already got me to stop using the service when you switched the upload cap. I am not surprised by this change. Pretty lame.

Hi,
I thought Pomailing was very good, however, I have only been using it for about 2 weeks!!
The article says it will be integrated into pump, which is for XP and vista... What about us MAC users??
Could someone please recommend an equally friendly way of sending large files ie. reports to people FOC?
I would appreciate the help.
Thanks, Niro

Hi Niro,
PUMP will only be for Windows in its first installment. But we're all Mac lovers so you can bet we'll port to Mac as soon as we can.
To send large files in a fashion similar to Podmailing you can try pando.com
Posted by: Louis Choquel | June 22, 2009 at 10:38 AM
ok.. first off, every single time i wanna send someone a large folder or file less than 1gig its giving me error messages saying its not working.. I still have time on my acct and I cant believe I WASTED that money only to use it for a lil bit. I need it and NOW? u guys are terminating it? ridicilous? you guys dont even care about your costumers.. NO ONE got emails inregards to this. super lame indeed.

Sorry Hortencia, your account expired on June 11, that is 1 week before we closed and posted the above message.
No accounts were terminated before their normal end date.

Hi there,
this is a very bad news, because pump currently offer no alternative to podmailing..!
And the application is very big (about 10 mb download), worse.
Podmailing was the only true and great alternative to Pando www.pando.com, but now we get pump, for videos, not filesharing and with a huge fat client software.. :(
Additionally your hosting isn't good, because the download speed of pump is not fast.
Why you don't use Cloudfront www.cloudfront.com from Amazon as cdn?

PS: And you lie, because URLs NOT automatically linked!
Links:

Hi iNsuRRecTiON,
you call 10MB big? unlike some software from 20 years ago, 10MB fits on a handful of 3,5" floppies, so I don't understand how you think it's big. Especially since you're likely to use a software like PUMP to download gigs and gigs of content.
Sorry for ending Podmailing, but I swear we tried hard.
About those auto-liked URLs, I guess they required a valid syntax, that is including the "http://".
We don't use CloudFront to host the download of PUMP because it does not support private access, which we use on S3 to allow/deny the download according to your invite code. As soon as we hit public beta we shall use CF.
thanks for your remarks,
regards,
Louis.

Hi Louis,
sorry for beeing upset, but I think 10 MB is large, especially if you think about bittorrent solutions like utorrent. http://www.utorrent.com
But anyway, maybe the new filesharing service from you and pump would also be good, let see.

I really enjoy using Podmailing. How long will this overhaul take? It's now July 8th and Podmailing is still closed. Any update?

no way to install this soft on a Mac - all the links (even if they indicate 0.10 version) are 0.9 version. After launching, an alert window asks for installing the lates version, then "no hanler for immage type" appears and the soft crashes.
I know it is a freeware, but frankly, it seem to be a weak one...

Sorry guys, the Podmailing software is discontinued indefinitely.
Posted by: Louis Choquel | July 14, 2009 at 09:35 AM
Whatever the reasons are, its sad to see it go, it was a simple, quick and effective way of sending large files. A few additions and tweaks to the gui would have made it light years better than pando. I suppose its back to old faithful (pando)for me and many others. Id expect 99% of the people using podmailing have no interest in pump and its video software regardless if it has file sharing capability and will not bother with it. All we need is more video services especially paid ones...Good luck with it
