If you have a digital lifestyle, then you must know what a Photo Manager is. Yes you know, it's that piece of software you use to store and sort all your photos and albums, and do whatever you like to do with them like uploading to flickr, printing and stuff. Please tell me you're not stuck with the old ACDSee folder-browsing experience of the old Windows 95 days.
Also, I take it you know what a Music Manager software is. Yep, same thing as photos but for mp3s, and all of the sorting principles are quite different with playlists, albums, DJing features, access to music stores, and mp3 player management etc.

I wouldn't bet nobody ever thought of it before we did, but I honestly have never seen that implemented in any Video software, be it a manager, player, downloader of any kind. So enjoy...

We revealed PUMP-Preview-1 back in December 2008 to get feedback and we got tons of it. Since then we have taken a huge step. We made some great improvements and added a bunch of very cool features in this PUMP-Preview-2:
a completely revamped user-interface -- a much better video library with video thumbnails -- improved BitTorrent and http downloads, web browser and flash video extractor -- added audio/video conversion (hell yeah!) -- and added audio/video sync with the iPod/iPhone -- yeeeeeha!

Yes, it is the first time we present PUMP on this blog and that's a sign. We are now en route for the public beta and we thought it was time to show some cards. So, what comes next?
Then what?
Well, it is our opinion that a great Video software must have sharing and socializing features built-in. Obviously, building that from the ground up is a tough task. Hey but wait, remember, we already have VIPeers: a file sharing platform, dubbed as a social network!
So, there you go, the next big step will see the integration of PUMP with the VIPeers network. Until then, please give as tons of feedback on the VIPeers forum or better yet, follow .

The news broke this morning, maybe you saw it on my : beyond this blog, VIPeers is now the codename of our new file sharing project.
As you must suspect, the term VIPeers is the combination of VIP and Peers. Our aim is to harness the power of P2P and add a quality of service that makes you feel special, hence VIP.
We have been working on this for quite a while and at last we have something to show that is worth getting feedback on. Speaking of which we got some awesome reviews by TorrentFreak (thanks Ernesto) and P2P-Blog (thanks Janko). The kind that really make us feel we're onto something. Go ahead and digg it by the way:

Those who know Podmailing might recognize some common points. The difference is that beyond email and personal communications, we are now addressing the need to share publicly on the Web.
So the Podmailing software is still here to send large files and also upload files to VIPeers. Podmailing is not disappearing but merely being integrated into the whole VIPeers offer - and it's still free. Actually there is a new release of Podmailing (v0.11.0) out there, go ahead and grab it.
As a preview, a few invitations will be sent and may find their way into your hands... So what are you waiting for? Give VIPeers a try! I mean a real try: get one of those heavy files you hide under the sofa and test the endurance of our servers.

The telco Orange recently presented its 2008 Summer collection. This event was one of the most famous shows for the French High-Tech in July.
This new edition mainly focused on TV and mobile services (Mobile Phones, the Internet...).
In addition to the 3D TV and to the release of a GPS service, Orange also announced the launching of a Facebook extension for its TV Guide that you can now find . This application allows users to check the TV schedule, to discover what their friends will watch and to recommend programs to them. This extension of the classic French Orange TV Guide also enables the access to the Orange VOD service, which is available 24/7.
We're talking about this application because it's developed by zSlide, and it represents therefore another step forward in our "Social Media" policy.
