Is the Peer-to-Peer Technology the Web Dracula?

The Structure 08 conference initiated an article published on Slyck. It refers to the P2P technology impact on the Internet.

Thomas Mennecke, the editor of this article, compares Anagran with Sandvine, two companies specialized in bandwidth management. What upshot on this study is the large variation between the figures announced by these two firms. These figures were related to P2P software's bandwidth consumption. In fact, Anagran estimated this rate to 80% while Sandvine only announced 44%.

It seems impossible to conclude on these items, especially since it is becoming more and more difficult to obtain new figures due to file sharing decentralization.

Nevertheless, we can see that Peer-to-Peer technology is having more and more significance and the bandwidth is under the obligation to evolve as a result.
